It's a Jungle Out There

Sunday was a cool, crisp, gorgeous day. Pops and I packed a picnic and walked down to the ecoscape. Everything is blooming, lots of bees. We ate lunch, savoring the time. Then we walked into the woods, following the path around the back of the acreage. I read somewhere recently that your blood pressure goes down when you walk in the woods. Anyway, we decided to walk through the undergrowth and trees up the hill to the back of our house. It's a jungle out there, I'm telling you! And a zillion poison ivy plants. We made it--no snakes, ticks, or poison ivy rashes (yet). It's so nice to take the day off and really experience my surroundings. This is one of my goals this summer. That, and taming the jungle in my garden.
